EMBROIDERY
The first step in the embroidery process is to digitise your artwork. The graphic is created using the specialised software. This program plots a pathway for the machine's needles to follow and also let the machine know when colour threads need to change.
The garment is fixed to the machine in a framed holder named a Phantogram. The machine is sent the design coordinates and moves the Phantogram accordingly for the garment to receive the appropriate colour and number of stitches. The programmed path for the design is followed and stitched until the entire graphic has been successfully sewn.
With the aid of advanced embroidery machines, a myriad of intricate techniques can transform ordinary items into unique, eye-catching pieces. Let's delve into the fascinating world of embroidery techniques that can elevate your clothing and accessories.
We take pride in offering an extensive array of thread colours for our embroidery services, ensuring your designs come to life in vivid, nuanced hues. Our colour palette encompasses a wide spectrum of colours, including unique options like glow-in-the-dark and metallic threads. While there is no limit to the range of colours available, we provide expert guidance to ensure the feasibility of design elements, particularly in smaller-scale embroidery. For smaller designs, intricate details might be limited due to the size, and gradients, while stunning, might be challenging to execute on these smaller scales.
Our dedicated team will work closely with you to optimize your design within the parameters of embroidery, offering expert advice on how to best translate your vision into stunning embroidered creations.
Embroidery Techniques Available
Cross Stitch
The cross stitch technique, resembling an 'X' pattern, is commonly seen in traditional needlework. Industrial embroidery machines replicate this method accurately, allowing for intricate and detailed designs. Ideal for creating patterns, borders, and geometric shapes, it adds a charming and homely feel to garments and accessories.
3D Puff Embroidery
Adding depth and dimension, 3D puff embroidery raises specific areas of the design, creating a textured effect. By using foam under the stitching, the embroidered area becomes more prominent, resulting in a raised, padded appearance. This technique is popular in creating bold and standout logos.
Embroidered Patches
The process of embroidering a patch using an industrial embroidery machine involves precision, artistry, and technological finesse. It begins with crafting a digital design, which is then loaded into the embroidery machine's system. A base material, usually a sturdy fabric like twill, is hooped and secured in place, ready to receive the intricate stitching. The machine meticulously follows the programmed design, maneuvering the needle with exceptional accuracy to create the desired pattern. Layer by layer, the threads intertwine, forming the shapes, colours, and details of the patch.
Once the embroidery is complete, the patch is carefully removed, and excess threads are trimmed, resulting in a meticulously crafted emblem ready to be applied to various garments or accessories. In the final stages of producing embroidered patches on an embroidery machine, it's important to note that we do not apply adhesive to the patches. The decision to affix the badges onto clothing or accessories through adhesive or sewing is left to the discretion of the customer.
This flexibility allows our customers the freedom to choose their preferred method of application, ensuring that the badges seamlessly complement their desired items in a manner that best suits their individual preferences or needs.
Why Choose Embroidery?
At times an embroidered finish is a more suitable solution than screen printing. It can often convey a sense of tactile quality which may add value to a product. The polo t-shirt, for example, is often worn at corporate functions and an embroidered crest logo exudes casual but stylish professionalism.
Benefits
1. Embroidered items can cost a little more, but their perceived value is much higher.
2. The imprint will also last a lot longer since the embroidery won’t fade away with the passing of years.
3. An embroidered logo stands out from your item. (depending on the quality, of course)
4. Your logo can have as many colours as you want without paying extra. The allowance of extra colours makes embroidery ideal for schools and organizations who have a multi-colour logo and don’t want to simplify their colour palette.
